Making Entourage Default Mail application

auchegal

Hi all,
Anybody has an idea how to make Entourage the default mail server which
will open when I click on a ling in Safari. I thought I made Entourage
the default server when I installed the program, but every time I click
on an a-mail link in Safari iMail opens up.
Thanks for the help.

In Panther? You have to go into Mail preferences to set the default email
application. In Jaguar, I think you set it in Internet in System
Preferences.

(PS. Wasn't that a step backward by Apple? Isn't that the type of thing MS
got sued for? Except that I have never opened/configured Mail, and Entourage
manages to be my default, don't know what's going on there.)

Right. It's the same in earlier versions of OS X.

In my opinion, yes.

Entourage should ask on the first launch whether you want it to be the
default mail application. That's probably how it got set on your machine.

Ah. Thanks, fixed a minor itch at my curiosity.

In my opinion, yes.

Interestingly, only the front-end for the Internet Config database
disappeared in Panther. All applications are still using it to store and
retrieve the information. Several applications offer you access to the
Internet Settings. I usually use IC-Switch (simple and free :)) ).
