Making Entourage Default Mail Browser

I am trying to setup Entourage 2004 to be my default mail browser of OS
X (10.2.8). I have tried going into Apple's Mail program, but the
options are not all there, namely the "General tab" where the default
program is changed. Any idea on how to recover this option?

In Jaguar (Mac OS X 10.2), this preference can still be set in the System
Preferences, the place where, IMHO, it *should* be. Apple only removed it in
Panther, if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, I can't tell you the exact
location (two system upgrades since then!), but if you cannot find it, try
using System Preferences' help viewer to locate it.

Jaguar: Set in System Preferences.

1) Open your System Preferences.
2) Select the Email Tab in the Internet Pane.
3) Click on the ³Default Email Reader² popup and select the ³Selectв menu
item.
4) Navigate to Entourage. By default it is located in Applications/Microsoft
Office folder
5) Click on the Select button for Entourage to set Entourage as your default
mailer.

Panther: The preference to set the default email application in Panther is
no longer in System Preferences. Apple now requires you to make this setting
in Safari or Mail preferences. However, there are freeware applications you
can use to set preferences:

RCDefaultApp

IC-Switch

More Internet

MISFOX (MIssing Internet Settings for X)

Thank you to you both. I was looking in the Mail program after having
read so many threads detailing that as the answer. I did not realize
that Jaguar was still in System Preferences. Thanks again for your
help.
