Making Shortcuts for üö caracters on a US standard keyboard

Hi,

We are a US company with an office in Germany, all our computers are in US
English with US English keyboards. As the alphabet has more charachters in
German than in English I need a KeyCombination system that would help me to
easily get the charachters whilst typing for example CTRL+ALT+O for an Ö
etc. The problem is I don't know how to program this and where??

Also is there a way I can program this and then package it to be installed
on users PC's as say an .EXE an thus not having to manually visit each PC.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you're running 2000 Desktops or newer, you can enable different languages
in control panel -> keyboard, and use the on screen keyboard accessibility
option for those users to be able to type their non english characters.

What I would actually like to do is to set shortcut keys as first described.
We have laptops so it's better just to stick with the US Configration and
when we need a special character we can CTRL+ALT+O for an Ö etc which is
easier than having to use the mouse and go to charachter map.

In OSs sich as windows 95 this was possible

If you set up the Keyboard Language as US International, you can use the
regular keyboard to form the characters you require. You can also use
Character Map to map shortcuts to specific characters used in Character Map.

What OS are you using? Can you add it under Add/Remove Windows Components?

Also, when using the character map, you can just use the shortcuts
Alt+Ctrl+P for ö and the alt+ctrl+Y for ü.
