Manage Mailboxes on Multiple Computers

S

Sarah Alderson

I have Entourage 2004 installed on 2 machines (a laptop and a desktop). I¹d
like to have both computers to have the same e-mails and calendar events.

For example, I¹d like all of my personal folders such as School and Business
to have the same e-mails on both computers.

Is there a way to accomplish this?

Thanks,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
Entourage stores all your data in the Microsoft User Data folder, which you
can find in your Documents folder. Copying the MUD folder from your laptop
to your desktop computer (and vice-versa) will result in both computers
having the same data.
Note however that this is *not* a way of synchronising them: if you change
your data on both computers, only the changes in the MUD folder that you
decide to copy will stay. In other words, this method is recommendable only
if you use one computer as your main computer. For purposes of
clarification, here's an example: let's say for instance that you use your
desktop at home, then copy the MUD folder to your laptop for work, and then
later on copy your MUD folder back to your desktop. If, in the meantime,
you've changed things on your desktop, these changes will be overridden,
since you've copied the laptop's MUD, on which these changes were not made.
I'm not sure if that was as clear as it ought to be; if it was not, post
back! Hope that helps,

Michel

Get an IMAP account. That's precisely what it does.
