managing others projects

Where I work we use the project center to track our individual projects. As a manager it would be ideal to be able to view these occasionally, but not have the tasks from them pop up in my day. If i subscribe, they are automatically put in there, and the preferences for my day are inadequate to specify which projects I want to show up. Is there a way to view others projects without subscribing? Or possibly some other workaround that would enable me to use my project center and my day the way I want without having to sift through all the other employees tasks as well.
