Manually Deleting Messages from the server

M

Martin Nelson

Hey,

I have my laptop set up to leave messages on the server and my desktop set
up to delete them. This way I can check my email at work and archive them at
home. Works great except I was wondering is there a way in one step to
manually Delete From Server messages without first opening them? I know I
can delete them and then empty the trash, but, you know, I¹m in a hurry and
as far as I can see there is no shortcut for emptying deleted items folder.

Thanks,
Martin

You can delete a message that's still on the server by enabling the "Online
Status" column (View > Columns > Online Status), and then clicking the
envelope with the green pipe next to the message. Select "Delete message
from server at next connection" to delete it from the server.

There is also a script that you can install that will delete a message
permanently called "Nuke Messages". If you try it, be sure to get the
Entourage version. I'd remove the key mapping if I were you by getting rid
of the \cD at the end of the file name.
