MAPI Failure when sending an attachmnet from Word

I have a user who when trying to send a file to Outlook as
an attachment from Word, 9 times out of ten gets a MAPI
Failure - Unspecified Error and cannot continue the
process. Microsoft's knowledge base states to close Word
and then try the process again - and that never seems to
work. Anyone have any suggestions or fixes. They would be
most appreciated.
