Mark a thread?

Hi

Is it possible to mark an entire thread in Entourage 2004, and not only a
message inside a thread? I want to arrange them so that I see only the
threads I'm interested in.

Or is there another way to sort by selected threads?

Thanks
Patrik

You can flag a thread.

Set your Arrange options for the group to Sort Into Groups. That makes it
easy to select a thread. Then you flag it. It is in your grasp then and
cannot escape you.

As far as I know, there is no way to flag a news discussion for follow-up.
That is, mark a thread that you want to follow, and have all subsequent
messages with the same subject that you later download be marked in some
way.

You can go through the process of creating a rule, and manually add each
subject that you want to follow to it, and have that rule mark each one as a
certain category and assign a color to it. That gets very annoying though.

Entourage's news reading capabilities are limited. They are enough for your
normal posting, threading, receiving, and you can even make rules to
messages to simulate news-reader type "follow thread" etc. This is all many
people need.

If you require more than that, than I suggest trying out many of the
dedicated news-readers available. Look here for a pretty large compilation
of Mac OS X news-readers available:
<http://www.newsreaders.com/mac/clients.html>

When I need more complex news-reader functions, I turn to Unison. You can
check that out at:
<http://www.panic.com/unison/>

There is a 15 day trial period, after which favorites are disabled and a 10
minute limit is imposed.

Entourage's news reading capabilities are limited.

That's what I thought too. So I will checkout some of the specific News
Readers like you suggest.

In the beginning I liked the "all in one" idea of entourage. But more and
more I'm tempted to switch to iCal, Apple Mail and a separate news-reader.

Thanks a lot
