Select the message, then go to Message>Mark As Junk. Alternatively, hit
Shift+Cmd+J.


I do not seem to be able to mark a news post as spam unless I OPEN it.

Thank you. Don't know how I missed that. Can't put it on the toolbar
though, can you?

This is a very weird little program.

No, it can't be put in the main window's toolbar for some reason.
