Masking parts of an AVI file running in PowerPoint

We have several AVI files of patient procedure. Recorded on the file is the
patient's name. Is there a quick way to mask that area when running the file
or does it need to be done in a video editing program like Premier or Sony
Vegas?

PPT has no video editing functions so it will have to be edited in another
program before inserting it in PPT.

Depending on where in the frame the unwanted info is....you can try using the
cropping tool on the inserted video object. If the info is outside of the
main
content area you've got it made. Otherwise it will have to be
edited............TD
