Mass editing of contacts - how to?

How do I change multiple contacts in Entourage 2004 at once, ie. edit
certain fields with the same information? This issue occurs, when new
imported addresses need to be updated (e.g. to add country information)
and the like.

Exporting, changing and re-importing is not an option for me, as all links
will be lost this way.

Is there a script or something ou there or do I just miss some basic
functionality here.

It can be done quite easily by AppleScript. Give an example.
