Andrea

Does anyone know what the maximum number of characters is for the
notes field in the Outlook 2003 contact form?

Thanks,
Andrea

I don't know offhand if there really is one. I believe it's basically the
same as the Body field in an e-mail message, which can be enormous.

For Outlook 2003 the limit is about 2GB of characters. For earlier
versions of Outlook running on WinNT/Win2K/WinXP machines the same
limit. For machines using Win9x the limit is 64K characters. It's an
operating system imposed limit.

Thanks so much Ken! Do you know if there is a way to display the
current size or number of characters in this fields via some vbscript?

lngLength = Len(Item.Body)

That will give you the number of characters. The count would be
truncated at 65535 if you are using a Win9x system.

Well that worked like a charm! Thanks a bunch. I don't suppose you
know if there is a maximum number of custom views you can create for a
public folder, do you? I read somewhere it is 128.

I'm not sure how many views you can create in a public folder.
