Max size for MS User Database?

With Office 2004 (OSX Tiger), does anyone know the maximum size one
can safely allow their user database to grow before experiencing
problems? I've seen references to 2 Gb or 4 Gb from past versions,
but those seem rather small to me.

Nice to know there is no real GB limit. My 2008 Entourage database
is 5.5 GB. I don't know if this low, high or in the middle. I did
rebuild after installing Entourage 12.0 using the 2008 Microsoft
Database Utility

It's about average, if there is one. :) I did an unofficial survey on the
list a while back and found:

10 less than 500KB

14 that fall between 1GB 8GB

Recently, I've seen reports of database larger than 20 GB. Now that I
consider large.
