Max text count in merged cells

Is there a limit to the number of words or characters that
a series of merged cells will actually show on a
spreadsheet? For instance, I have a paragraph in a cell
(series of merged cells: rows 13-20, columns A-O) that is
266 words (1579 characters counting spaces) long, and only
about 197 words actually show in the cell when not in edit
mode.

The big question is: how do you get all of it to show?

Sounds like that's too long, but you should be able to get a definitive in
an Excel group. This gruop is for Outlook.
