maximum # of addresses in outgoing mail?

I¹m trying to send a press release to a large number of reporters but
Entourage X keeps telling me that the e-mail can¹t be sent due to an invalid
address. I¹ve tried sending the message to my own address at work as well as
to my home e-mail address and it has worked both times, indicating that this
account is able to send outside my company network.

I¹ve also gone through the entire list of addresses and not found any bad or
incomplete addresses, which are usually highlighted by the green question
mark. The ³Send² option is active and the system will try to send the
message but it will fail with the aforementioned ³5.5.4 Invalid Address²
error.

Besides the possibility that there is a bad e-mail address that Entourage
doesn¹t recognize as bad until it tries to send, the other possibility I¹m
considering is that there is a limit to the # of addresses you can send
using the BCC function.

Any suggestions?

Check with your ISP. Looks like this error is being generated by the SMTP
server, not Entourage.

You can also try splitting your recipients into smaller groups. There is an
AppleScript that can automate this, see
<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq/faqs.html#Anchor-177>.
