McAfee VirusScan

I am upgrading from Windows 98 and Office 2000 to Windows
2000 and Office XP. I did not uninstall anything before
upgrading the OS, and VirusScan was installed. The OS
upgrade does not allow me to uninstall VirusScan through
the Control Panel, but I have removed registry entries
and files. The reason I did that is that after upgrading
Outlook, I now cannot run it. I get an immediate dialog
box with "The add-in 'C:\Program Files\McAfee\McAfee
VirusScan\scanemal.dll' could not be installed or
loaded. ...".

As I said, I have removed the McAfee registry entries and
files, removed Office XP and reinstalled it, but I still
get this error.

Any ideas?

In Outlook, go to Tools->Options->Other->Advanced->add-in Manager and
uncheck the McAfee addin.
