Measurement Unit keeps resetting back to points

Thank you ... but what does the web site link have to do with my question.
I always use only "inches" in MSWord, but probably about 30% of the time, my
MSWord ruler changes back to "points" instead of my default ("inches"). Bob

I'm suggesting that the ruler may not be showing "points." It may be showing
"character units," especially if Tools | Options | General is still showing
inches selected as the default measurement unit.
