Meeting Invitations Not Working

When I follow the instructions for inviting someone to a meeting/event I get two different outcomes ...

For invitees within my company, when they click on Accept, I receive an email that says "This meeting is not in your Calendar. It may have been deleted or moved. Lastname, Firstname has accepted. Conflicts with another event on your calendar."

For invitees outside of my company, when they click on Accept, I receive an email that notifies me of such and a link that allows me to see everyone else's replies ... in other words everything works.
