merge data from inserted object?

Hi
I have slighlty modified contacts form in outlook. I use this as a data
source for mail merge, to avoid retyping the same stuff more than once.
I use the Notes field to keep records about that contact, as an
inserted object from an excel worksheet.

When I try to merge to a report, all the data I want to apear works
except for the data in the worksheet, that field remains empty...

Anyone know what I can do to make this work?

Sorry, I forgot to tell you it is an XP machine, with Office XP
installed. Local instalation, POP email.

Inserted objects are ignored during merges, which can handle only text.
