Message body in weird code

S

Sovell

I am receiving email from a few people that the message body is in some
kind of weird code. I only get this from a few people but it is
consistent that all their email comes to me in this manner. If I
forward it to myself, I can read the message body. I am thinking that
it is on my side because a person here in my office cc'd on the same
email does not have this problem.

Any ideas???

you might try this:
Go to Entourage-->Preferences-->Security
and uncheck "Display Complex HTML in messages."

I was having a similar problem. This seems to clear up the gibberish,
although the html formatting may get tweaked and the message may not
display as intended. But at least now I can read them.

Have you modified any of your system fonts? We remove, ususally, all
non-essential system fonts to avoid printing issues. If Arial and
Verdana are removed or off, we get this issue on mainly commercial HTML
mail. Put the fonts back in or turn the on and the issue goes away.

You might want to make sure you have not modified those fonts.

Delete the "com.microsoft.browserfont.cache" file in ~/Library/Caches.

"~" represents your home folder, which is usually located in /Users/<Your
User>/ and is accessible by going to Go > Home in the Finder.
