Message Boxes in MS Word 2000

R Bolling

I have a data entry template (Doc) in MS Word 2000. In the Zip Code
text box, I would like a messagebox to pop up if a user inputs
anything other than a number. Are there any ideas on how to do this?

Thank you,

Hi Robbie,

You don't make it clear what type of data entry form this is - one using
formfield or a userform. In both cases however, you would use the
IsNumeric() function to test the entry. The actual code will vary slighty
depending on the type of form, but something like

If Not IsNumeric([zipcontrol])
Then MsgBox "You did not enter a valid Zip Code"
[other commands]
End If
