Message Interface/Unknown Error

Sometimes when I try to forward an attached file I receive
the following error message...'The messaging interface has
returned an unknown error. If the problem persists
restart outlook.' Can you tell me what causes this error
message? I am using Outlook 2000 with Windows 98 OS.
