message sending fails

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: imap When I send a message by 'replying' to a received message, the intended recipient gets nothing, even though I get no indication that the message has failed.
When I contact the same intended recipient with a new message, using my address book, all works perfectly.
Can anyone suggest what is going on please?

This is not a common problem. Without seeing the actual problem, I'm not
sure what to even suggest. Reply is usually the best way since the email is
a result of the sender's email.

Does the message go to your Sent folder?
Is it all recipients that fail to receive replies?

Hello Diane. Yes, I sent two experimental messages (labelled A and B) to my friend. She received message B (sent using my address book) but not message A ( sent using 'reply'). Both messages went to my Sent folder. I haven't been aware of this problem with other recipients so I'm wondering whether the problem may lie with my friend's system, not mine?

It sounds like more of a problem on her end to me. Compare the two sent
message. Select each message in the Sent folder. Then under Message in the
Menu bar, select ³Source². Compare the two to see if you can find the
difference.

It could be something like a different "reply to" has been added to her
headers and it's incorrect.
