Message Status column icons in Mail list view - can't mark messages "read"

J

John

There are a number of different icons in the "Message Status" column in
the Mail list view.

Question 1:
I have been having a problem with not being able to mark some messages
as "Read" (not bold). All of these problem messages have an icon which
looks like a yellow envelope with a blue "X" and a white arrow pointing
right below the envelope. What does this icon mean and has anyone had
and solved this problem before? (I searched several places including
this list and MS Support but came up with nothing.)

Question 2:
Is there a list of possible "Message Status" icons and their meanings
anywhere available, and if so, how can we access it?

Platform:
I'm running Entourage (& Office) 2004 v 11.1.0 on OS X 10.3.8.
Mac is dual 1.8 GHz with 1.25 GB RAM and 160GM HD.

It sounds like those are messages you've created but haven't yet sent (also
known as draft messages). These messages stay bold until you send them or
delete them.
