Message status (replied/forwarded) problem

I use both Outlook 2007 (at the office) and Entourage 2008 (at home and on the road). However, unfortunately when I reply to messages or forward in the one, it can not be seen that I did so in the other. Why is that? It is rather annoying, and drawing me back from using Entourage at all ...

Does this happen all the time for every email? What kind of account are you
using? For Exchange accounts, sometimes it may just be that the status had
not had the chance to upload the changes to the server. For example, if I
downloaded emails at home on Entourage 2008 and viewed all the emails I just
downloaded, and I quit Entourage before it had time to sync the changes back
to the server, the next morning all those emails will appear "unread" when
they're downloaded onto Outlook.

Hi Hui Nee!

I think what the OP is referring to is the "replied to" or "forwarded"
status arrows.

While the *read/unread statuses* do sync to the Exchange Server the
*arrows* do not (at least not with Entourage). I'm not really sure they
sync with Outlook either but I've never checked.

Just replying to my prior comment.

I see that the reply/forward arrows on messages sent by Outlook do
indeed propagate to not only standard OWA but also the light version of
OWA. Since Entourage connects via WebDAV then the potential for it to
correctly read and publish these indicators is certainly present.

Thanks for your replies! I am not sure though what the last message of you William means ... Does it mean that the ingredients to have it working are there but for some reason it isn't functioning? It is sooooo unhandy ... :-( By the way, I noticed a different thing while I was just trying how it would work if I would reply in OWA. Mail.app showed the reply arrow ... (while it only does now and then, also weird) and Entourage still didn't. But Entourage also does not display the reply in the sent items box correctly. It does not show to whom the message is sent and the subject says <no subject>. The message itself is broken, the reply is not there, the original message only half. Now it could be that I closed OWA too soon, but in Outlook 2007 it shows up correctly ...

I'm sorry for my latest reply, it was too long and distracts from the main problem: cross platform indication of reply & forward in an Exchange environment. It is driving me mad that it doesn't work, and it is the one main thing that keeps me from using Entourage ... Can/will it be resolved?

Presently, Entourage does not support synchronizing the reply and
forward arrows. But because Outlook Web Access (OWA) supports this (and
Apple Mail from what you've said) then I think the potential for
Entourage to include this feature in a future release is definitely
possible.

that sounds promising!! That is, if future release means a software update. Future release in the sense of Office 2010 or something isn't of course ...

Microsoft should be actioning this functional deficiency as a bug and be preparing a patch immediately.
I have several users who work between Windows, Mac and OWA, they need to be aware if they have already responded to an email or forwarded it on.
