"message to verify they are valid." Huh?

Hi,

I am getting a strange error message when trying to send to ONE specific
recipient who has a domain ending with ".biz".

The error simply says "message to verify they are valid.". Nothing more
and nothing less, which doesn't make any sense to me. It also says:
"Mail could not be sent. Account name: "My Account Name""

However, the error number is -17099 so I checked the MVPS for Entourage
at http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/page.html#error-17099 . Sadly
there's only explanations for Entourage 2001 and X. Of course, I have
2004, version 11.2.5.

No other mail is stopped like this. I am NOT sending to more than this
recipients when this happens (i.e. no mass mail or even CC/BCC)

Any suggestions?

TIA
Jonny

(ahem...)

I have to reply to myself:

The guy used to have [email protected] but has changed to
[email protected]. But in Entourage's address book, his entry still
had the .biz address and NOT the .travel address.

So despite the fact that he mailed me from the .travel address,
Entourage changed automatically to the .biz address when I replied. And
as you rarely see the actual address in the address window, but mostly
just the name of the recipient, I didn't even think of something like
that. (Damn you, Entourage!)

I didn't notice this until my support staff asked for the mail headers.
I now sent the mail with the proper .travel address and changed in the
address book accordingly, and everything is fine as usual again.

Cheers,
Jonny

When there is a known difference between versions for error messages, the
differences are posted. You can reasonably expect that Entourage X and
Entourage 2004 solutions for errors are the same. You might also note that
error numbers close in number will give a clue when the error you are
seeking is not listed.

Sadly, there is no official posted error list.

When you received the message with the new address, Entourage could have
noted this and given you a chance to add it to the address book. I say
"could" because this would depend on your use of rules.

If you replied directly to an open message, Entourage should have used the
sent address. However, if you selected a new message and typed in the
recipient, Entourage would use the one in your address book.

Hope this helps.
