I am a new mac user and have had my macbook for about 3 months. Entourage has been installed from the get go, but I have noticed in the last few weeks that it does not seem to syncing properly with my office Exchange server. Messages I delete using my Macbook at home remain on the server and I have to delete them either through my web access or Outlook on my PC at work to get them to truly delete.

I did find a similar thread regarding this, but the problem ultimately was not solved. I have tried clearing my cache and resyncing and forcing the sychronization but the problem remains. Any insight would be appreciated, it's a very irritating issue...

Thanks!

I have found (saw it in another post - thank you) that if you right click the message and then delete - it goes from the exchange server AND my blackberry. If I use the handy delete button at the top of the page - the messages are deleted on entourage but not on the blackberry or exchange. I keep installing updates to see if this has been fixed but so far I still have to right click the message.
I am very surprised that Microsoft do not pick up on these issues - and why oh why do they ignore exchange notes and todo items. They should be accessible from entourage to make it a fully functional replacement for outlook.
And finally, I (and presumably everyone else) still need outlook to archive emails. Another missing component of an otherwise excellent piece of software.

Thank you

michael

I don't understand what this reply has to do with the original post. I need an answer about how to make entourage effectively sync with my Microsoft Exchange server, I don't need help archiving.

Thank you

It doesn't. This is why hijacking a thread makes for confusion. When we ask
users to post in a new thread we get slammed. <sigh>

Bill should be back from MacWorld and he can probably help with the Exchange
part.

Hi Allison!

This is a fairly common problem.

If you see this happen in just one or a handful of folders then
right-click or Control-click that folder, select Folder Properties and
click the Empty button to empty the cache. You can also select the
account itself and empty the cache for all of your folders.

If this is happening with your Sent Items then be sure to create copies
of sent messages that you don't want to lose. Clearing the cache will
delete messages from your computer and replace those from the server.

Hope this helps!
