Messages Not Downloading

My messages don't seem to be downloading to Entourage anymore even though no
settings have changed. I can check my mail using a web interface just fine,
but Send & Receive does nothing.

I tried manipulating the "Get all messages left on server" checkbox to no
avail. What's wrong?

Are you getting any error messages?

No error messages, but doing an Advanced Rebuild allowed me to download all
current and future messages, but all old messages still had to be deleted
manually through a webmail interface. It looks like there some sort of flag
on each e-mail message saying "download me/don't download me" and that flag
is inappropriate down on all the old messages, for some odd reason.
