Blackberry KB: KB05382 gives the following resolution...

This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.

However, this has been the resolution since 2006...can I assume no fix is forthcoming? Anyone know of a workaround?

Well you need to ask RIM about it. I fear it's a bug with the
blackberries and not the other way around,

Thanks...have queried RIM, but like to try to get all sides of the story...think it is less of a bug and more that some service/connections aren't supported by one, two or all (Entourage, Exchange, BES server)...however, would prefer an answer such as 'it is an known issue and this is why it happens', rather than getting into a 'blame game'...very prompt response as it was...

Personally, it's the first time I hear about it... I'd be tempted to say
it's not a frequent issue and it doesn't affect a lot of people.
It really looks like a RIM issue,

Try a google search...

blackberry entourage "sent items"

....gets a few hits...

Judging by the RIM KB article, it's obviously been an issue since 2006...

You're correct that this has been an issue for quite a while, however,
if other phones can sync with Entourage then I doubt the problem is with
Entourage.

Keep in mind that Microsoft has provided the ability to sync using
Apple's Sync Services. (Unfortunately, those don't work so well either.)
It's up to RIM to use what's provided by Microsoft and Apple. Microsoft
and Apple aren't responsible for putting additional code into their
products for RIM.

Thanks...posted here as well as RIM, since answers are usually not forthcoming from RIM, especially developers...

I think this problem is in the way Entourage syncs data. If you use Apple Mail in Snow Leopard on an Exchange account the sent mail DOES show up on the BlackBerry.
I am surprised to hear this is only the first you have heard of it. I have talked to other organizations with Macs who have had this problem with all of their mac users who have BlackBerry's since Entourage 2008 was released. this is not new.
I have about 50 people in my organization with this problem. It is not isolated or unusual. It is just broken.
If Apple Mail got it right, then it is not RIM, it is Microsoft that needs to look at their code.
