What a ridiculous problem. Fact is, the Exchange inbox (1) does not sync
immediately upon launch of the program. It takes a couple of minutes before
it even starts to sync and there is no way to force a sync; (2) is not in
any way a live sync. There is an undocumented syncing schedule that cannot
be edited, seems to be every 1 or 2 minutes; (3) Syncing any Exchange
folders cannot be interrupted; (4) Syncing sometimes just craps out,
requiring a restart of the program.
If I discover that contact and calendar syncing are still buggy, I¹m going
back to IMAP. Unfortunately, I won¹t be able to test that until my IT guy
finishes cleaning out the 17,000 (no exaggeration) holiday duplicates
Entourage v.X put into my Outlook calendar.
Beyond the significant disappointment I feel at how crippled the Exchange
functionality still is in this version, which I won¹t belabor here, it is
outrageous that the Entourage has such major bugs.
