Microsoft Access Runtime

I

IrishTyke

Hi team,

I have written an application in MS.Access 2003 that also links to files
created in MS.Excel & MS.Word. Where possible, I am selling to my customers
but, sadly, the application only runs where the users already has MS.Access,
MS.Excel & MS.Word installed on their local system.

Do I need the 'MS.Access 2003 Runtime' in order to solve this problem and
must I buy 'Microsoft Visual Studio Tools 2005 for the Microsoft Office
System' for this?

Kind regards:
Anthony Judge.

Distributing the runtime will only solve the requirement that they have
Access installed on their local system: it will not help with the
requirement that they also have Excel and Word installed.

Yes, to get the MS Access 2003 Runtime, you must purchase Microsoft Visual
Studio 2005 Tools For Office. See

information.

Note that the A2007 runtime is free and just become available today to
download. You can run an A2003 MDE in A2007.

Hi Tony,

Many thanks for your input.

Would I need to buy a copy of Access 2007 in order to use the A2007 Runtime?

Tony Judge.

Yes. Because you will need A2007 to at least start the runtime wizard
going.

The runtime has been delayed as they found a serious bug.

Many thanks again Tony.

Would I need to buy MS.Office 2007 or just MS.Access 2007?

Access 2007 should be sufficient.
