Microsoft Blended Learning Solution

P

Paul Stevenson

Hi,

I am working for a large corporation as HR mgr. We would like to train over
10,000 people on the MS office package using all sorts of learning types
(face-to-face, elearning, virtual class...) to reduce the costs.

One of our problem is actually to quickly calculate the exact cost of making
a blended learning solution. Because of the sheer size of the audience, it
takes about 4-5 hours to calculate and plan for all the 26 sites for each MS
office application. We are looking at some way to automate that or to buy a
tool that could do it for us.

Any suggestion?

Paul

Paul,

One way to look at it is by contacting some company specialized in blended
solutions. Couple of months ago, i used a company called Credo International
www.credoworld.com. These guys have an application to do about what you are
asking.
We use it for projects over 200 guys. The thing is that the application is
linked with some other templates that you can use to do your projects. So you
might want to look into that as well. That might save you 30-40% of your time
running training projects...we cut down of 20% of the cost of training as
well.

Boccaccio,

When you say you cut 20% of the costs, are you talking about time saves or
cost of training?

Franck.

Hi Paul,

Boccacio is right. The guys of Credo do sell this appl. We tend to use more
templates than the cost applcation but it also works.

We got a customized version from them, so we can use our statement of work
and project document definition. I don't know how much we really saved but
compare to what we used to do, it is certainly a strong improvement.

Def recommend it.

Franck,

20% in delivery costs for face-to-face and virtual classes. Sometimes we
managed to reach around 50-60%.
The savings are made from two sides:
1. the templates force you to create a very good segmentation of your
audience. So you create faster courses for smaller groups
2. The tool to calculate the costs allows you to create tons of scenarios
where you can try to increase the number of students per course or number of
sessions per day. This is done in such a way you can find out the best
learning solution for a maximum budget.

Boccaccio,

Thanks for the reply. Got couple of questions for you:
- Does this set of tools allow you to modelize multiple sites, multiple
languages, multiple price scheme, various number of users per site and
various delivery format?
- What technology does it use?
- What is your experience with the MS office package?
- Price wise, how much are we looking at?

Thank you
