Microsoft Database Daemon

I have no Daemon in my system pref. accounts, startup items. I been
told that I should have one. Activies Monitor show that the database
daemon is running.

Yes I have turn on notification on.

Try repairing permissions using the 'disk utility'. It could be a system
file permissions issue blocking Office from creating the necessary alias.
