Microsoft Entourage Hanging

Please help. My Microsoft Entourage has hung and I can not fix it. The
problem started when I forwarded an email to my wife that conained
lots of graphics, I annotated the email before sending it. After
hitting the send button the email just stayed in the Outbox and then
it hund. The cursor is now a revolving rainbow rather than an arrow
and I now can not make Entourage do anything.

I have force quit Entourage the fired it up again only for the same
thing to happen. Ditto with shutting and retstarting computer down.

My web browser workd fine.

I cant even get into the Outbox folder to delete this email?

I am running an iMac G5, 1mb ram , OS 10.3.9. I changed from Windows
PC to Mac two years ago.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated

Try this: when you click on the Entourage icon to launch the application,
hold down the Shift key. This will prevent the application from running any
schedules at startup, such as automatically sending messages in the outbox.
You should now be able to use Entourage without seeing the dreaded beach
ball of death. Next, de-activate the preview pane in e-mail messages by
double-clicking the divider line between the e-mail list and the preview
pane. After you've done that, navigate to your outbox, select the e-mail
message that you think is responsible for the crashes, delete it and empty
the Deleted Items folder. Entourage should now be up and running again, and
it should be safe to start using the preview pane again (View>Preview
Pane>).
