Microsoft Excel Signature Error

Within the last week I've been receiving a fatal error in Excel. As far as I
can tell there are no consistencies in when the error occurs. In addition
there have been no changes in the system configuration. Below is the error
message and Excel detail:

Version:
MS Excel 2002 (10.4524.4219) SP-2

Error:
Error Signature
AppName: excel.exe AppVer: 10.0.4524.0 ModName: mso.dll
ModVer: 10.0.4219.0 Offset: 000029fa

I noticed on another computer with the same setup, that its Excel had a
service pack 3 installed. Could that be the issue?

I hope you Excel Guru's are able to help me out. It sure would be
appreciated!
