Microsoft mail (workgroup) e-mail address gets given an smtp on re

M

Mick@work

When an e-mail is addressed to an internet and internal e-mail address the
message gets through to all as would be expected. But the e-mail the internet
recipient receives has the address of the internal recipient appended to the
senders internet account.
i.e
sender e-mail is (e-mail address removed)
internal e-mail is ADMIN\WGPO\fred
internet e-mail is (e-mail address removed)

if john replies ALL to bert, freds address becomes (e-mail address removed)
and obiviously gets bounced.

What to do ?

What version of Outlook are you using? Also, how is fred's address entered
into the email? Does it come from the address book?

using a combination of versions of outlook 97,98.2000,2002
Fred's name is entered using the postoffice address book ( microsoft mail v3
freebie from windows 3.11 )

Hmmm, if you hand enter it as [MSMAIL:ADMIN\WGPO\fred] does it work? I'm
trying to remember how to force Outlook to recognize the transport to use
and I think that was it but I could be wrong.
