Microsoft .NET Framework updates fail Office XP Professional 2002

The following updates fail in Vista. I believe it is because an update
technique/program (OSE) does not exist on this level of Office. How do I get
past this?

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family
Update (KB951847) x64

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1

Neither failure has anything to do with Office.

In Vista open Windows Update. Click on "View Update History". In the Status
column, right click on failure for the update and View Details. Record the
error code and check on additional help. If you are unable to fix the
problem, post your problem and error code to microsoft.public.windowsupdate
for help on Vista update problems.

You will likely find these news groups easier to use if you use a news
reader such as Vista Windows Mail vice the web interface you are using.
