microsoft office fails to install

i purchased the microsoft office for windows xp/vista, the one for $64, i
downloaded it but it fails to insall... it doesnt even go throught the
process, it says from the very beginning the installation of the package
failed...
i had the trial version of microsoft coz it's a new laptop, i uninstalled it
and it still didnt work.
i burned it on a cd and tried to install it, and still, it didnt work !!

Theres a deal right now for students called The Ultimate Steal at
digitalriver.com.Perhaps thats the one NH has purchased.because I am having
the same exact problem also.
