Microsoft Project 2003 cannot connnect

Hi ,

I have Windows 2003 server with Project 2003 Server and Sharepoint services
installed on it. With Project 2003 Professional in others computers; no
problems with access to EPM Solution, but... in server (Win2003 Server,
Project 2003 Server and Sharepoint Services) I have a problem: The Microsoft
Office Project 2003 Professional say:

"Cannot Connect

Project was unable to establish a connection with the selected project
server. This could be caused by a loss of network connectivity or problems
with project server or database".

For Informations only: The Services Packs is installed (Win2003Server,
Project2003Server e SQLServer2000).

Can anyone please help me with this? Sorry for my english...

Hi,

are you using the same account both from the clients and the server itself?
Did you disable the enhanced security configuration for the Internet
Explorer? Is the server in the zone of trusted sites on the server itself?

My answers for your questions is YES !!!! I'm using the same account, the
Project Professional and the Project Server on the same server. In others
notebooks and desktops the connection is OK! But... on the same server I
receive this error.

You cannot use project pro on the server when you install SP1 on Project
SErver. That's a documented error.

You cannot connect to the server if you are running Project Server 2003 SP1
and the original release version of Microsoft Office Project Professional
2003 on the same server

I agree with Wilt. I faced the same problem after installing SP-1.
The only way i found was re-installation of project professional after which
it worked fine

Before installing project service pack one should make sure that all
applications of professional and server are closed else it leads to such a
problem.
