Microsoft Project Templates

I need to construct a monthly office Product Schedule and was hoping to
create a 4 week and a 5 week template instead of a fiscal year calendar (that
way it wouldn't require someone to input data each recurring month). My
question is does Project even allow you to create a template separate from
the traditional based calendar it operates off of? Second, if it does allow
you to build a 4 week and 5 week template what steps would I need to take to
get this up and running?
