Missing a font for Outlook2004

C

Craig

I have been using 98Outlook and recently upgraded to 2004Outlook (from
Office 2004).
Everything works fine except for one possible missing font.
When 2004Contacts is open, there is a column at the extreme right side of
the screen.
I think the column is for the alphabetical index (a to z) for contacts.
The index is greek to me. I think the font for the alphabetic index is
missing.
Could someone tell me the name of the font? Thanks. Craig

When checked, tahoma.ttf and tahoma bold ttf were installed.
but there is no Office 2004 or 2004Outlook version.

Since this new Outlook was created during the installation of Office 2004.
That's why I thought that it must be 2004 Outlook.

When I left clicked a button at the bottom of the column, I see two
selections: None or Western. It was "None" when I posted this thread. The
whole column seems to be in Greek. When I selected "Western", a new
column in alphabet appeared on the left side of the Greek column. I am
having two columns: Greek and Alphabet. How can I get rid of the Greek
column? Thanks. Craig

If the Mac version works like the PC (there is a Mac version called Office
2004, so I assume that is what you have, as you didn't answer my question
about which OS you use and this newsgroup is about outlook for the pc) -
it;s on the Tools, options, calendar option button, show two indexes.
Uncheck the extra.

Sorry for that. I am using PC (WinXP Pro - Sp2).
Uncheck the extra.

When I uncheck "Show an additional contact index", it shows only Greek index
column.
If I check "Show an additional contact index", it shows two columns for
English and Greek index each.

Everything (2004 Office and Outlook) is supposed to be in English. It is
possible that somehow the default setting for Language on Outlook could be
in Greek. Could you please advise me where to look for the default language
setting for Outlook? TIA. Craig

first - look in Help, About - what version of outlook are you really using?
There is not a version called "2004 Outlook" for the PC.

Did you go to tools, options, contact options and turn off the second index?

Have you tried detect and repair?

Hi,

I am back to my office this morning. I have Office2004 setup on both office
and home computers.
When I looked at Tasks (Outlook) on office computer, it is perfect. I see
only one column of alphabetical column.
There was no button at the bottom of the column.

On the other hand, Tasks on my home computer shows a Greek index column with
a button at the bottom of the column.
The button allows to select Western. It seems that a default setting was
wrong for home Tasks.

When I go home, I will try to repair under helps.
