missing character from word file

have one important file containing some important information in word file.
the problem is that from the whole file containing 170 pages the character R
& S is automatically removed from the file. I am seding the sample for same
and kindly help :


– He i not coming Chandigah due to peonal poblem.
(actual : He is not coming Chandigarh due to personal problem).

Message eceived fom PA to M. .N. Pashe, IAS eg. time fo meeting with MD,
HSIIDC tomoow i.e. 6.11.2007.
Actual Message received fom PA to Mr. R.N. Prasher, IAS reg. time fo meeting
with MD, HSIIDC tomorow i.e. 6.11.2007.

I suspect you are using a Windows version of Word. You've landed in a
discussion group for users of Mac versions of Word (not your fault: it's a
charming foible of MS's "discussions" web interface, which I see you used).
Mac versions differ variously from PC versions. Although several people here
use both PCs and Macs and may give you an answer soon, it's likely that more
people in a PC group have experienced your specific problem. Here's where

When you post your problem, specify your version of Word and Windows.
Mention whether this occurs only in one document or all; if the latter
whether it's a blank new document that you created. Also specify the font in
use. And as much additional information as you can think of.

Thanks for Reply.

The problem comes in perticular one file only. My Operating system is
Windows XP and Microsoft word version 97. It is an old file. The font used in
this file is Tahoma. this problem come is my one file named
"telephone-20.doc"

Actually when the Data is punched in that file the data is OK. After
reopening the file on the same day or next day this problem occures.
kindly guide accordingly.
