Have you encountered that? I have a file which we can only see the vertical/horizontal gridline. How to make the gridline visible and why this happen?

Vertical and horizontal grid/guide lines are all that are available. You can get
these by clicking on View | Grid and Guides | select display Grid and/or Drawing
Guides.

You may have become used to seeing the grid in PPT 2002/2003, but when you switch to PPT 2000, the grid isn't visible.

Perhaps that's the issue?
