My Entourage X seemed to have a corrupt file in my database and I could
not rebuild it so all my information I assume is lost. My room mate
uses the same program but we sign on with different names. Her
information was mostly there, but now that it thinks my account is new
and I am the default it sends my mail her her box. Why is this
happening now and how do I prevent it? She has her mail open and it
sends her my mail and also hers. When she sends emails out it sends to
people from my account. Is the whole program corrupted and I need to
wipe out office and reinstall? Thanks, Lori

Do you have separate Identities in Entourage? If you have separate
Identities, there is no way Entourage could be accessing your account info
from her Identity. An Identity can have multiple accounts and in this case
you could see what you are describing. However, if you say you have
corruption then that would point to separate identities.

Look over the info on Identities and get back with more details on your
problem. <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/glossary/identity_user.html>

i know this seems impossible, but i just did another test and it
failed. we both use entourage, but have different email names and
passwords. we had it set up to ask which email account we wanted to
open when we turn on entourage. all her account info is as it should be
as is mine. i am the default email account. i used thunderbird to email
to her email address and i had entourage open in my account and i got
her email and it says it is to her email but mine picks it up. if she
is on her account and i get email it goes to her box. how can we stop
this? thanks, lori

Your description still sounds like you have one Identity with multiple email
accounts. When you look under Entourage in the menu bar and select Switch
Identity, does this show one Identity for you and one for your room mate?

Diane,

FWIW, the following snippet from the OP's second post indicates that they do
probably have separate identities:

"we had it set up to ask which email account we wanted to
open when we turn on entourage."

I use multiple identities myself and I have it set up the same way--to open
the identities window at Entourage startup.
