modify multiple word documents

Does anyone know a way to add a footer to several word documents. I
have to add this footer to 3200 files. I tried a macro for it, but
then I still have to open the document, start the macro and save the
file. (When recording the macro the filename is stored in the macro
and I don't want to save 3200 documents onder the same name)
