Modifying an event you create

Once I've created an appointment and sent it, I don't seem to be able
to bring it up and edit the text. Is this a known problem?

Sent it? Do you mean you are sending invitations to the event?

I neglected to say I don't know of any problem with modifying regular
calendar events. Just double-click the event in the calendar and it
should open.

I don't have any experience, however, with events to which I've sent
invitations. (I'm a very private person...)
