Modifying permissions when Admin login is unknown?

I've got a database (Access 2002) that appears to have
been 'locked' with a special user permission setup - even
the Admin user only has Read permissions to all forms and
code. The person who built this database is long gone and
this is the only copy of the database there is. I cannot
import the forms from this database into another one - I
receive the following error:

You do not have permission to import, export, or link to
<formname>.

Nor can I go in as Admin and change the permissions to
Read Design or Read Data.

Is there any way I might still be able to get into the
database and bypass whatever user security permission the
original database creator set up?

Jennifer,
You need to logon to the database as a member of the Admins group. It
appears that the developer has, correctly, removed the Admin user from the
Admins group.

Okay - bear with me here. It's been a very long time since
I've dealt with permissions setup in Access (grin).

When I go into the original database it requires no login,
and from what i can tell (by looking for CurrentUser), I
am, indeed logged in as Admin.

I've tried setting up logins with access to the Admin
group but it doesn't seem to work - in that it appears the
new user is indeed a member of the Admin group, but still
does not have administrative rights, nor can I log in as
this new user and change those rights.

I tried using the Security Wizard, and it created a file
and let me create a user which I then assigned to every
group, and gave all permissions.....yet still I continue
to get errors indicating that any user I try to use has
Read-only permissions.

I'm hoping I'm just missing something obvious (that
perhaps someone can nicely point out to me) but I'm at
currently at a loss, and not sure how to proceed.

I've tried creating a new database and importing in the
forms from the 'locked' database, but it won't let me. It
just tells me that I do not have adequate permission and
to contact the administrator (which, unfortunately, I
cannot do since she's long gone). I can import the tables
and queries, but it's the forms and associated VBA code I
really need to gain access to.

Worse yet, I do not have the original .mdw file, since the
person who created this database left the company so I'm
stuck with using my default security setup and trying to
find a way around it.
