Mouse Highlight/Drag speed

Is there any way to slow down the speed in which the mouse
highlights cells in Excel or moves fields down in an
Access form? It is a real pain to try to select 50 cells
in a worksheet because when you left mouse click on a cell
and drag down you get 500 cells instead. Same thing in
Access when you try to move a field from the top of a form
to the bottom the mouse moves 10 feet instead of 10
inches. Anyone have the answer?

Most of us either use a different mouse selection technique, or the
keyboard, for that kind of selection.

Adding the Shift key to any cursor movement key (e.g., up, down, page up,
page down, home, end, and various combinations with Ctrl) selects text as
you move.

Alternatively, to select a range using the mouse, click in the first cell
you want selected, then Shift+Click in the last cell you want selected,
using the scrollbars to navigate. (Ctrl+Click can be used to select
non-contiguous cells/columns/rows in Excel, but not in Access, I don't
believe.)

In many applications the drag speed is related to how far down the screen
you rest the mouse.
