move entourage email database

hi,

i read in the archive that i can move the database files by copying it
to any folder and creating an alias in the standard folder
(/user/documents/microsoft..../identity/....). i did exactly this but
when starting entourage it cannot find the database. somebody wrote to
stop the database daemon when moving the database, but did not explain
how to do this.

can anyone give detailed "how-to-move-database" instructions.

highly appreciated!
thanks

Hi Guys,

I need this too.

Preferably if this could be automated so that the Database file can be moved
from ~/docucments/microsoft user data/office 2004 identities/main identity/
to a NW Drive (in the way that Lotus Notes can move it's data folder to a
different location).

Any ideas?

Florian, have you tried stopping the Daemon in Activity Monitor? Brutal but
may work.

Let us know!

Regards,

Ben.

Hi Guys,

I have quit the daemon & moved the Microsoft User Data folder to a NW drive
& created a shortcut to it in the ~/documents/ folder but, it doesn't seem
to "follow" the shortcut...

Anyone, got this working? If so, how?

Regards,

Ben.

Right, so I have successfully moved the database to a afp share... Seems ok
for now...

When I was trying it before I tried to move it to a SMB/CIFS share but it
wouldn't work....

Any ideas?
