Move To (Toolbar versus Menu)

I have the preferences set for "After deleting or filing a message: Close the window". If I use the move to Menu commands from and open message then all works fine and the message window closes after filing to the move to folder. However, if I use the Move To Toolbar Icon to initiate the fling then the message window does not close? Is there a reason that this these two methods are inconsistent? Why does the toolbar not honor the preference setting for filing? What can be done to make the toolbar work the same way as the menu selection for filing?

Hi Dean!

This certainly does sound inconsistent. I would imagine it's an
oversight in development. I see no way to change the behavior.

Please be sure to let Microsoft know you'd like to see this feature
corrected in future versions by using the Help --> Send Feedback
mechanism in any Office application.
